Blue Jays at the plate: Jason Smith had four hits, including a solo homer. John-Ford Griffin also belted a solo shot.

Red Sox at the plate: Manny Ramirez went 1-for-1, scored a run and reached base three times, and J.D. Drew produced two hits, including an RBI triple.

Blue Jays on the mound: Tomo Ohka turned in a strong effort against his former team, allowing one hit and striking out two over three shutout innings. Blaine Neal, another former Boston righty, pitched one scoreless frame.

Red Sox on the mound: Starter Kyle Snyder surrendered five hits and two runs over 2 1/3 innings. Reliever Julian Tavarez was sharp over his 1 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out two.

Grapefruit League records: Red Sox 4-4-1; Blue Jays 4-3-1.

Up next: The Blue Jays host the Astros in Dunedin, Fla., on Friday at 1:05 p.m. ET. Right-hander John Thomson will be making his second start of spring.

The Red Sox travel to Clearwater, Fla., to face the Phillies, with left-hander Kason Gabbard making the start. He'll be oppposed by southpaw Cole Hamels. Reliever Craig Hansen, vying to earn the final berth in the Boston bullpen, will make his first appearance of the spring. Hansen had been sidelined by back woes. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. ET.
