Tigers at the plate: Cameron Maybin contributed a double, triple and three RBIs to a 14-hit attack. Five teammates -- Ivan Rodriguez, Gary Sheffield, Magglio Ordonez, Chris Shelton and Neifi Perez -- also collected two hits.

Blue Jays at the plate: Reed Johnson opened the scoring for Toronto with a solo home run off Tigers starter Jeremy Bonderman in the third inning. Johnson, who also doubled in a run in the fourth, was the only Blue Jay with more than one hit.

Tigers on the mound: Bonderman endured his worst spring outing by allowing five runs -- four earned -- in four innings. He yielded only two earned runs in his first three starts.

Blue Jays on the mound: Starter Shaun Marcum allowed three runs -- two earned -- and four hits in three innings. The right-hander struck out three and walked none.

Grapefruit League records: Tigers 12-6-1; Blue Jays 6-9-2.

Up next: Toronto right-hander A.J. Burnett will oppose Houston right-hander Roy Oswalt when the Blue Jays visit the Astros on Sunday in Kissimmee, Fla.

Detroit right-hander Zach Miner and Atlanta right-hander Tim Hudson are the scheduled starting pitchers in a meeting of split-squads in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

In another pairing of split squads, Tigers left-hander Nate Robertson will start opposite Devil Rays left-hander J.P. Howell in Lakeland, Fla.

All three games are set for 1:05 p.m. ET.
