The Blue Jays will pay tribute to military personnel throughout the season, and they'll take a moment during the middle of the third inning to single out worthy members of the community. The first honoree will be Sgt. Alain Taschereau, a Quebec native who joined the Canadian Navy in 1986.
Taschereau, married with two daughters, later switched branches of service and worked with the Canadian Army. He's been deployed domestically and abroad in conjunction with the United Nations Forces, and Taschereau has been part of missions to Yugoslavia, Haiti and Afghanistan.
Taschereau -- and his fellow honorees -- will be in uniform and will be recognized by the crowd during the middle of the third inning. The Blue Jays will invite each of the honorees onto the field and will have the video board show a slideshow of images accumulated from their respective tours of duty.
