Accardo, who was sidelined with a strained right forearm on May 10, made a one-inning rehab appearance with Class A Dunedin on Thursday. The arm injury flared up again on Accardo, who will rest for a couple of days before being reevaluated.
In the outing on Thursday, the 26-year-old right-hander yielded one run on two hits against the Daytona Cubs. In two Minor League rehab outings with Dunedin, Accardo has yielded one run on three hits across two innings. Accardo is 0-3 with a 6.57 ERA and four saves in 16 games with Toronto this year.
Catcher Gregg Zaun, who landed on the DL with a right elbow injury on May 27, had rehab games with Triple-A Syracuse rained out on both Thursday and Friday. Zaun is slated to suit up for Syracuse on Saturday and could be activated in time for Toronto's upcoming road trip, which begins on Tuesday.
Gibbons also noted that injured outfielder Shannon Stewart (sprained right ankle) is scheduled to head to Florida this weekend to continue his rehab work at Toronto's Dunedin facility. Blue Jays second baseman Aaron Hill (concussion) is still a couple of days away from possibly being cleared for a Minor League rehab.
