Blue Jays sign LaRoche

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have signed 1B/3B ANDY LaROCHE to a minor league contract for 2013 with an invite to Major League spring training.

LaROCHE, 29, appeared in 96 games between Columbus (Cleveland) and Pawtucket (Boston) in the International League (AAA), posting a .251 average with 20 doubles, 12 home runs and 41 RBI in 2012. The 6-1, 195 lb. right-handed hitter has played in 403 games for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates and Oakland Athletics, batting .226 with 22 home runs and 133 RBI over five Major League seasons.

RHP SAM DYSON has been claimed off of waivers by the Miami Marlins.
