Jays send Burres, Bullington to Triple-A

KANSAS CITY -- The Blue Jays optioned pitchers Brian Burres and Bryan Bullington to Triple-A Las Vegas after Thursday's 8-6 loss to the Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

Club officials said the resulting roster moves could be announced Friday. One of the pitchers will stay with the team through Friday's game in Toronto against Baltimore.

Burres took the loss on Thursday against the Royals after allowing six runs (four earned) in two-plus innings in his second start as a Blue Jay. In his first start on April 25, he pitched 4 1/3 innings and gave up six earned runs against the White Sox. In two starts with the Blue Jays, Burres is 0-2 with a 14.21 ERA.

Bullington, who was called up from Las Vegas on April 24, pitched three innings and gave up two runs on Thursday. He had previously been perfect in three relief appearances.
