Blue Jays trade Wells to Oakland

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have traded OF CASPER WELLS to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for cash considerations.

WELLS, 28, was claimed by the Blue Jays off waivers on April 10 after he was designated for assignment on March 31 by the Seattle Mariners.  The 6-2, 210 lb. right-handed hitting outfielder did not appear in a game for the Blue Jays.  The Grand Rapids, Michigan native has a career Major League batting average of .246 with 25 home runs and 80 RBI in 224 contests over three seasons (Detroit, 2010-2011 and Seattle, 2011-2012).
