Blue Jays claim Laffey


The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed LHP AARON LAFFEY off waivers from the New York Mets.

LAFFEY, 28, appeared in four games, (two starts) for the New York Mets this season, posting 0-0 record with a 7.20 ERA. The 6-0, 200 pound, left-hander posted a 4.56 ERA with the Blue Jays last season in 22 games, (16 starts). In 152 career games (67 starts), Laffey has a 25-29 won-loss mark with a 4.44 ERA for Cleveland (2007-10), Seattle (2011), New York Yankees (2011), Toronto (2012) and New York Mets (2013).

To make room on the 40-man roster SS JOSE REYES was transferred to the 60-day disabled list.
