Blue Jays recall Thad Weber


The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have recalled RHP THAD WEBER from Buffalo of the International League (AAA). LHP SEAN NOLIN has been optioned to New Hampshire of the Eastern League (AA).

WEBER, 28, was claimed from the San Diego Padres on May 19 and has made one relief appearance for Buffalo (AAA), tossing 2.2 innings of scoreless ball. In six starts this season with the Tucson Padres of the Pacific Coast League (AAA) the 6-2, 205lb. right-hander has posted a 4-1 record with a 3.93 ERA. The Seward, Nebraska native has made three relief appearances for the San Diego Padres this season posting a 2.00 ERA over nine innings pitched and has a career record of 0-1 in five Major League games with an ERA of 4.15 with Detroit and San Diego.
