The Blue Jays will wear special July 1st uniforms and will celebrate Canada Day along with presenting sponsor Honda. Fans on Monday will be treated to special pregame festivities outside Rogers Centre prior to the 1:07pm game with the Detroit Tigers.
Fans are encouraged to come down to Rogers Centre early to join the Blue Jays in celebrating Canada's birthday. Pregame festivities begin at 10:30 am outside all gates and will feature interactive activities, games, and prizes. The festive atmosphere will surround the exterior of Rogers Centre and we strongly suggest arriving early as a large crowd is anticipated.
The first 20,000 fans to enter Rogers Centre will all receive a red replica Blue Jays Cap presented by Honda when gates open at 11:00am. During the game, one lucky fan will become the proud owner of a new 2013 Honda Civic Touring Sedan, courtesy of Honda Canada. In-game the festivities will continue with Canadian themed giveaways and entertainment.
During the pregame ceremonies, the Blue Jays will proudly honour our Canadian Armed Forces, with over 225 military present to carry Canada's largest Canadian Flag and enjoy the game. 2nd Lieutenant Scotty Newlands will sing the anthem, alongside the Navy Flag Party from HMCS York. Indy Car driver Alex Tagliani will throw out the first pitch and members from the Canadian Jr. National Baseball Team will also be on hand.
Tickets to the rest of the seven game homestand and all Blue Jays home games are available online at www.bluejays.com or by calling 416-341-1234 or 1-888-OK-GO-JAY. Fans can also purchase tickets at the Blue Jays Box Office at Rogers Centre or at any Ticketmaster retail location, and at select Rogers Plus stores in the Greater Toronto Area. As the Blue Jays have sold out four games this season, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
