Gaston to miss two games

ST. PETERSBURG -- The Blue Jays will be without manager Cito Gaston for a couple of days while he attends the funeral services for his sister this weekend.

Gaston's sister, Mattie Clarke, passed away on July 2, and the funeral is scheduled for Saturday in San Antonio, Texas. Gaston will fly to Texas following Thursday's afternoon game against the Rays in Florida and he said he plans on meeting the Blue Jays on Sunday in Baltimore.

On Friday, Toronto opens a three-game series on the road against the Orioles -- the final series before the All-Star break. While Gaston is away, Blue Jays bench coach Brian Butterfield will serve as manager for the team.
