Blue Jays Baseball Academy National Baseball Coaching Clinic

The Toronto Blue Jays, in partnership with Baseball Canada, will host their second annual Blue Jays Baseball Academy National Baseball Coaching Clinic at Rogers Centre, January 10-12, 2014.

The Coaching Clinic will target baseball coaches at all levels of competition.  Baseball Canada will provide professional development credit for coaches that attend as well as host the four Instructor Stream NCCP certification modules;  Baserunning, Hitting, Infielding, and Outfielding.  The cost of the NCCP modules is built into the clinic registration fee and will be available at no additional charge.  In addition, the Clinic will also offer the NCCP Baseball Initiation Workshop for beginner coaches.

Toronto Blue Jays Senior Vice-President of Business Operations, Stephen Brooks commented that "the Blue Jays are proud to partner with Baseball Canada to help promote the game of baseball across Canada.  Coaching at all levels plays a key role in skill development and enjoyment of the game; we are happy to play a part in fostering those elements.”

Participants will also be invited to attend a ‘Coaches Social’ happening on Friday, January 10 at the TD Comfort Clubhouse in Rogers Centre.  Coaches will have a chance to mix and mingle with members of the Blue Jays Baseball Academy, along with members of the Blue Jays front office staff.  All coaches will receive a Blue Jays Baseball Academy fleece sweater.  Baseball associations with ten or more coaches attending will qualify for a special group discount.

"Once again it is a pleasure to partner with the Blue Jays on the delivery of this National Baseball Coaching clinic," said Baseball Canada President Ray Carter, "The Blue Jays continue to promote the development of baseball for all in Canada and this is another example of it by offering this clinic."

Instructors will include; Lloyd Moseby, Jesse Barfield, Brian McRae, Pat Tabler, Sandy Alomar Sr. and  Homer Bush with more names to be added at a future date.
