Roster updates

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have outrighted LHP JUAN PEREZ off the 40-man roster and signed him to a minor league contract with an invitation to attend Major League spring training.

Perez, 35, posted a 3.69 ERA in 19 relief appearances last season before having his season end with a ligament tear in his left elbow on August 9. The left-hander joins INF ANDY LaROCHE and C MIKE NICKEAS with minor league agreements for 2014 that include an invitation to attend Major League spring training.
