DeRosa to retire


The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have been informed that INF MARK DEROSA will be retiring.
DeRosa, 38, batted .235 in 88 games for Toronto last season, his lone as a Blue Jay. The 16-year veteran played with eight different clubs, appearing in the post-season on six different occasions, posting a .358 average with eight extra base hits and 10 RBI in 22 games. The Passaic, New Jersey native belted his last and 100th home run of his career off Dallas Keuchel of Houston on July 27 of this past season. He finishes his career with a .268 average and 494 RBI, surpassing the 10 home run mark in four consecutive seasons from 2006-09.
