The 39-year-old veteran finished the night with nine strikeouts, but it came in a losing effort as the White Sox hit four home runs off Dickey en route to the victory.
"Tonight was a very bizarre outing," Dickey said after the game. "I don't know how else to explain it, to give up five hits and four of them being home runs. To walk one guy and strikeout nine and leave the game after six innings giving up five runs, that's a bizarre outing. I try to take the positives out of it, I have Oakland in a few days, and be ready to go."
Dickey has recorded at least 100 strikeouts during each of the past four seasons. His career high came in 2012 when he struck out 230 batters and won the National League Cy Young Award with the Mets.
