TORONTO -- O's manager Buck Showalter lost a challenge in the bottom of the third inning of Thursday's game against the Blue Jays after Jose Reyes stole second base with two outs.
With Nolan Reimold at the plate, Reyes broke for second on a 2-2 pitch from O's starter Miguel Gonzalez. Reimold took the pitch and catcher Caleb Joseph fired down to second baseman Jonathan Schoop, who applied the tag to a diving Reyes.
Reyes was initially ruled safe by second-base umpire Jeff Kellogg, prompting Showalter to challenge the call. After review, it was ruled that the call on the field would stand.
