CHICAGO -- Some of the best talent Baseball Canada has to offer will be on hand next month for a fan appreciation luncheon in support of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
A star-studded list of former players and front office executives plan to attend the Sept. 15 event at the Albany Club in Toronto. Tickets can be purchased for $225 with the funds being used to support the construction of a new baseball museum.
Hall of Famers Fergie Jenkins and Roberto Alomar will be in attendance alongside former Blue Jays players Lloyd Moseby and Duane Ward. Other guests include Toronto president Paul Beeston, general manager Alex Anthopoulos, former manager Cito Gaston and Hall of Fame columnist Bob Elliott.
"We're very thankful for the support of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Albany Club in making this luncheon happen," said Scott Crawford, the Hall's director of operations. "This is an important fundraiser for us, as we work towards building our new museum. And speaking from a fan's perspective, it's rare to have this many Canadian baseball legends in the same room."
The lunch is followed by a panel discussion, which will be hosted by Sportsnet's Jamie Campbell. Information can be found at baseballhalloffame.ca.
