Blue Jays claim Hague


The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed 1B MATT HAGUE off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates. He will report to the Buffalo Bisons.   

HAGUE, 28, has spent the majority of the season with Indianapolis of the International League (AAA), batting .267 with 14 home runs and 67 RBI in 93 games, earning an International League All-Star selection. The right-handed hitter has appeared in 33 Major League games for the Pirates (2012 and 2014), recording a .222 average with two doubles and seven RBI. The Bellevue, Washington native is a veteran of 788 minor league games in seven seasons, posting a .293 career average with a .367 OBP, and most notably being selected as International League MVP in 2011.
