PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 6th round of the 1987 First-Year Player Draft ... Played 10 seasons as an infielder in the minors: six with the Brewers, two with the Expos and two with the Phillies... Played in four Major League games for the Expos in 1993...Went 2-for-5 (.400) with three RBI, including a two-out, pinch-hit RBI single off Gary Wayne in his 1st career plate appearance on Sept. 7 vs. COL...His other MLB hit was a two-run double off Chris Hammond on Sept. 29 at FLA.

COACHING & MANAGERIAL CAREER

Joined the Rays organization on Oct. 31, 1996 and managed at every Minor League level over 18 seasons while amassing a 1,266-1,142 (.526) record... Won a division title with Short-A Hudson Valley in 1998... Took Class-A Bakersfield to the playoffs in 2001... Claimed a Southern League title in 2006 while with Double-A Montgomery... Spent eight seasons (2007-2014) as manager of the Triple-A Durham Bulls and led the club to seven IL South Division Titles, six trips to the IL finals and two Governors' Cup Championships (2009, 2013), including the Triple-A title in 2009... Compiled a 633-515 (.551) record while with Durham and had his No. 25 retired on May 26, 2016...Was inducted into the International League Hall of Fame in January, 2016... Garnered much recognition while with the Bulls, including IL Manager of the Year (2010, 2013), Baseball America Triple-A Manager of the Year (2007), IL All-Star Team Manager (2010, 2014), Baseball America Minor League Manager of the Year (2009), and Minor League Baseball's Mike Coolbaugh Award (2009)... Was named Futures Game coach for the World Team (2010, 2011, 2013) and was also a coach for Puerto Rico in the 2009 World Baseball Classic... Joined Tampa Bay's big-league staff as Third Base Coach from 2015-2017... Spent the 2018 season as the Rays' Bench Coach.
