Matthew David Buschmann...Graduated from Lafayette High School in Wildwood, MO...There he earned honourable mention All-State accolades as a senior.. Attended Vanderbilt University where he went 17-6 with a 3.31 ERA (71 ER/193.0 IP) over three seasons.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Was selected in the 15th round of the 2006 draft by the San Diego Padres...Spent 11 years in the minors with San Diego (2006-2011), Tampa Bay (2012-2013, 2015), Oakland (2014) Cincinnati (2015), Baltimore (2015) and Arizona (2016)...Signed a Minor League deal with the Toronto Blue Jays on February 28, 2017 and was assigned to Triple-A Buffalo but did not play... Was named to the 2007 California League Post-Season All-Star Team, the 2008 Texas League Mid-Season and Post-Season All-Star Teams, and earned pitcher of the week on four occasions... Made his Major League debut at 32 years of age for the Arizona Diamondbacks...Pitched in three games, recording three strikeouts while allowing one run over 4.1 innings for a 2.08 ERA.

COACHING CAREER

Held his first player development role in 2018 with the San Francisco Giants as Assistant Director of Player Development- Run Prevention.
